Proud Parents

Although our children have never had formal music lessons, we have tried hard to immerse them in quality music and an array of instruments. Though I do not play piano, I have tried to teach piano lessons, and overall I’m pleased with the results. We also do a group guitar lesson where MrPages teaches us all (although some of us are slower to absorb this information, than others!) And yet I always worry that we are not doing enough. (Isn’t that the cry of every home school mom?)
Yesterday my children performed for me a “song” they wrote and put together. I was flabbergasted and very proud; it was awesome. MrPages recorded it, cleaned it up, and now we present the LittlePages in their debut single: My Banana
fabulous!!
I’m all a-twitter! The rhythm and descant are amazing. Keep us posted on their “sophomore” project.
Very cool! When can get expect a CD to drop?
I told LittlePage4 this joke, one of my new favourites.
What kind of key opens a banana?
A monkey!
So most excellent!! If that couldn’t make it in to a Veggie Tale movie… Fabulous. Keep it up! (both the musical kiddies and their hardworking parents!)
by the way, how old are those little pages? We all need some inspiration about the next generation!
The not-so-LittlePage1 just turned 12. LittlePage2 just turned 10. They are both girls. They boys will turn 9 and 7 this summer.
The LittlestPage is supposed to turn 3 soon but while she really wanted to join the taping session, she froze at the microphone. However, when she realized she wasn’t in the completed version, she flew into hysterics, ran to her room and slammed the door. So apparently she will really be turning 13!
(LittlePage4 opens the song and then LittlePage1 joins him. LittlePage2 joins in with the rhythm part, “He wants his banana.” LittlePage4, who apparently began the whole thing by eagerly eyeing the bananas on a day when breakfast was late, sang the three descant lines and ending.)
Mr Branches says he hears some influences of Imogen Heap.
I think it’s got a good hook, I’ve been singing it to BabyBranches all week! :)
Now I await the “Partridge Family” style van ;P
