Do you know how many times I hear that song in my head as I tell my children "not now. I'm busy"? Yikes. Anyway this is good stuff. I saw it over at Challies.com, I think. Now that I've read it twice I suppose I should do something about it.

Great Reveiw Little Page 1! Your writing skills are excellent, you must be following in your parents footsteps and making a few new prints of your own.
I have a distant memory of reading this book but only after I read Tailchasers song. (Ask Mrs. Pages about that one!lol)

Hi Esther,

I was under the impression that the WPL no longer offers Rosetta Stone online. In fact, Rosetta Stone has apparently discontinued this program for all libraries. If you have more information, let me know!

The WPL does now offer a language program called Tell Me More by Auralog but we haven't used it. Yet!

Thanks so much for stopping by,
MrsPages

FYI

The Winnipeg Public Library System will allow you to use their copies of Rosetta Stone online (provided you have a library card) (ha ha, as if that was an issue for MrsPages...)

I've been thinking about this one. I agree that we need to recognize all the aspects of God, but I don't see a problem with identifying with one (or a few) more strongly. It may change with whatever stage you are at in life, or what you are dealing with in your walk with God.

Personally, I also identify most strongly with the child-father image. I don't think that is a problem, considering God said that to truly see Him, we need faith like a child. When we become to caught up in our adult thoughts, we can become bitter (Say, like Bill Maher, who sees faith as a mental illness), or begin to think that we can do it without God. Seeing God as Father has always impacted me most, as a feeling of security. I don't have to know what life will bring (it would be nice) but knowing that God is in complete control is comforting. Whenever I start to worry about anything, I just turn it over (often multiple times) and trust that he has my best interests.

God is the great ideal for how a parent should be. As parents, we can do our best, have good intentions, but there will always be things we could have done better. As a new parent, knowing how much I love BabyBranches, even when he drives me crazy, it shows me just how much more God loves me. Parents have to be just, and give children consequences for their behaviours. But, like God, good parents balance this with love, and mercy.

When I was first married, God as BrideGroom was the strongest image. To understand just how much God longs for me to talk to him and spend time with him was so evident. And to see firsthand that even the closest of human relationships cannot compare to the relationship that is waiting with God. We were created to be in relationship with people, and for those relationships (romantic or not) to point us to God.

So those are just a few of the things I've been mulling over. I'd like to hear some other thoughts too!
